Nearly all my outdoor figs, which were still green, were stripped off. There was no trace of them on the ground.
This is the first time this has happened, so I don’t think it’s squirrels as they’ve been around for years.
There has been an explosion of parakeets recently.
Any ideas? I’m thinking of putting fleece over them next year.

The parakeets are very likely culprits, but it might be wood pigeons. Here in Norfolk we don’t have the parakeet problem, but wood pigeons seem to be happy to eat almost any sort of underripe fruit. They are awful predators of plums and cherries whilst the fruit is still green and rock-hard
